EVAL™ is one of Kuraray’s core businesses and is produced globally in Europe, America and Asia-Pacific.
EVAL™ (EVOH) polymers are characterized by their unique gas barrier properties and excellent extrusion processability. High technological innovation has led to an extended range of different grades of EVAL™ resins for food packaging, building & construction, and automotive and industrial applications. EVOH is a material capable of replacing non-recyclable polymers in many applications, making final products using EVOH recyclable and in this way live up to requirements of circular economy requirements the future brings.
The innovative high-tech production plant in Antwerp started up in 1999 supplying the European, Middle Eastern and African markets with EVAL™ resin and has currently more than tripled the initial production capacity in order to meet the EVAL market demand.
From a people perspective, a unique feature is that the EVAL Europe team is highly entrepreneurial – supporting initiative and creativity – while obviously remaining compliant to the expectations stakeholders have in terms of safety, engineering standards and high customer expectations.
In recent years, an investment program has been started with the purpose of making the plant fit for circular economy applications and producing EVOH that is recycle-ready.
